The Adventures of Haley and Autumn
11-17-05 - 10 weeks
Baby A and Baby B The babies are no longer an embryo! Though they are barely the size of a kumquat — just an inch or so long — and weigh less than a quarter of an ounce, they have completed the most critical portion of her development. During the next three weeks, the babies will more than double to nearly 3 inches. Their heads are proportionately smaller now than a few weeks ago, but still almost half the length of their entire body. Each day, more minute details — including tiny fingernails, toenails, and peach-fuzz hair — start to appear on her body. Their fingers are now completely separated; arms bend at the elbow and curve slightly; hands are flexed at the wrist and meet over her heart; legs are lengthening; and feet may be long enough to meet in front of the body.
